P is in sPider

A spider is crawling up my leg.

I have an Edward Monkton fridge magnet at home of a girl infront of a giant spider. It reads:

No longer does she fear the spider. Instead she draws STRENGTH from the knowledge of her bravery in its presence.

It was crawling up my leg, so I flicked it, gently I must say, onto the grass.
Its climbed back on and is making its way up to the hem of my (tight, oh so tight, all that comfort eating) bermuda shorts. It's trying to get under it!

Oh no you don't matey!

I've guided it onto the denim.

Up, up, up it's crawling!

Here, crawl into my shoe. From there you can figure out where to go!

Did you know, spiders used to symbolise money years and years and years ago and were considered very lucky. I read it once in Theodore Zeldin's An Intimate History of Humanity.

I pretend they still are.
