I begged my parents to stop smoking
and they did
Now my son's begging me
and I don't, I won't
I shan't, I can't
I've promised him
I've promised me
Only a dream can set me free

A single mother on benefits. Society's bacteria. The parasite bleeding society dry. Need I say more?

I gave up eventually using patches, so it is possible. But certainly don't attempt to give up while you have so much stress to deal with. Promise your son you will in the not too distant future.
I tried cold turkey a few years ago and gave up for a year. Even managed not to smoke when the Foca dragged me through mediation and was gasping for one. Then got in with the 'wrong crowd' ha ha doing my Masters and began having the odd drag on theirs when we went out and started again 'properly' when my son started school in 2007.
When we win this wretched battle, then I will stop. I will, like I said I would, in 2005. No point stopping just to start again until then because like you said, it's so stressful getting knocked by the council all the time. Big well done to you though champion mamma!
